Savage Shores
Savage Shores is a print-and-play solo RPG packed into a pocket-sized micro-zine. With just a pencil and a handful of dice, you step into the role of a lone explorer sent to chart a mysterious island brimming with danger and ancient magic. As you trek through Water, Swamp, Peaks, and Woodland, you’ll gain strange elemental powers, discover new tools, and face creatures both wondrous and terrifying. Every encounter invites creativity: combine magical modifiers with tools in whatever imaginative way you choose, turning rope into frozen vines, spears into blazing lances, or compasses into spectral guides.
Gameplay is fast, tense, and endlessly replayable. Each round you roll to determine where you explore, face unique encounters, use your abilities to overcome challenges, and mark your progress on the map. Success grants magical energy that lets you level up, unlocking new modifiers, tools, and stronger dice as your explorer grows more powerful. Failures chip away at your endurance, and monster encounters won’t let you escape until they—or you—are defeated.
With simple rules, meaningful choices, and dozens of possible builds, Savage Shores delivers a compact but rich solo adventure perfect for fans of fantasy, exploration, and clever dice-driven play.

When leveling up, was it your intent that newly acquired modifiers/tools be upgradable or only modifiers and tools that you had prior to leveling up?
Neat little game. I really like it.
Thanks very much! When levelling up you can choose either to upgrade existing modifiers and tools OR newly acquired ones. I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
